Do you ever feel like you have a superpower? At my best, I feel like I have a couple – creativity and ambition. They aren’t my everyday superpowers, but I can tap into them occasionally if my day is going well. Of course, when I am having a bad day, I don’t feel like I have any superpowers 🙂
Whether you’re having the best day ever or a not so great day, I thought it would be fun to think about everyday superpowers we all have that others don’t even know about. It could just be the ability to bite your tongue when someone says something annoying – or being able to multitask during a busy morning. I think these everyday superpowers can be a bit underrated, as they are really what makes or breaks a day sometimes.
To learn what sort of general area your everyday superpower falls into, take my latest quiz: What’s Your Secret Superpower? This quiz can’t predict anything as specific as whether you can clean a room in five or make someone think you’re listening when you’re actually thinking about something else. But it will give you a good idea of what your superpower is in a more general sense. Let me know what you get and if it describes you well.
Discussion questions: What ordinary thing can you do at a superpower level? If you could have any ordinary superpower, what would you like to have?

Do you consider yourself an introvert? Most Blogthings quiz takers do! (If you don’t, don’t worry – you still can get a lot from today’s quiz.) I think introverts are naturally drawn toward self-reflection, psychology, and even quiz taking. That’s why I felt confident writing an introvert quiz for everyone to take, even though introverts make up a small percentage of the population 🙂
Even though I love being an introvert, it can be trying at times. It seems like everyone has more friends and more fun than I do. Sometimes I need to remind myself why it’s good to be an introvert. I’m a good listener, and a loyal friend. I can get deeply immersed in satisfying projects – like knitting and writing. I tend to do my own thing no matter what the crowd is doing. I enjoy spending time alone. I’m rarely bored.
None of the above is to brag… I just assume that most of you feel the same way about your introversion. And even if you’re not an introvert, I think we all like to see what we get from our quiet time. In this world that promotes extroversion, it’s hard to sometimes find a place for your private self. In some ways, I think the internet has made this harder – with so much emphasis on social media and getting people to “like” what you do. We aren’t really encouraged to develop our private selves much anymore.
So, in order to encourage a little healthy introversion, I wrote today’s quiz: What’s Your Introvert Strength? Find out why it’s good that you’re an introvert. Or if you’re an extrovert, learn what’s good about your introvert tendencies (we all have them!). Let me know what you got on this quiz, and if you think it’s true for you.

Have you ever taken a temperament style personality test? You may be surprised to learn that you have if you’ve ever taken a quiz that gives you result like INTP or ESFJ? (Here’s my most popular temperament quiz: What’s Your Personality Type?
The idea of personality temperaments goes back far in time, way back to the time of Hippocrates in 450 BC. Hippocrates developed four different personality temperaments, and many modern personality quizzes are still based on them. Hippocrates four distinct temperaments were: choleric (emotional and sensitive), phlegmatic (cool and detached), melancholic (very serious), and sanguine (impulsive and excitable). If you’d like to take a quiz on these personality temperament types, it’s here: What Temperament Are You?
The four temperaments show up throughout a variety of personality quizzes. Most element quizzes and even more corporate style tests like DiSC are based on the four personalty temperaments. Even the most popular personality quiz, the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is an offshoot of the four temperaments.
So given the long history of personality temperament theory, I wasn’t too surprised to come across a new, modern theory of temperament by Brian Lewis. I like these archetypes a lot, because they are very relatable. I decided to base a quiz off of them, and in case you are a MBTI nerd like me, here is how they correspond to that test: Polite / Guardian (SJ), Daring / Artisan (SP), Compassionate / Idealist (NF), and Skeptical / Rational (NT).
Are you ready to find out what your modern temperament is? Take my latest quiz to learn if you’re polite, daring, compassionate, or skeptical: What’s Your Modern Temperament? Comment and let me know what you get. How true is it for you?
Discussion question: How does your modern temperament compare to your MBTI type?

When you think about your personality, do you consider who you are around others or who you are when you’re alone? I think there is some overlap between our social and solitary selves, but we definitely are different depending on the context we are in. I like to think about who each of us are when we’re alone, because I think it’s our true personality at our core. For example, I am probably more of a non-serious, outgoing type when I socialize, but by myself I am more contemplative and calm.
I think it’s interesting to ask where our personality comes from. Is it from how others perceive us? Or is our personality formed by how we perceive ourselves? I think that in the end, our personality is formed within – no matter how others perceive us. We never really know what people think of us, so even when we are weighing their perceptions, we do it through our own lens. (Haha, that may be been a little too deep for me… and I wrote it)
How do you perceive yourself? I see myself as introverted, thoughtful, and kind… but also as logical and critical. I see myself as a risk taker, although a measured on. I see myself as creative and innovative, but also as disorganized and a bit scattered 🙂
Today’s quiz is all about your private personality – what makes you tick and what makes you happy. Give it a go and see what you get: Deep Down, Who Are You? Let me know what you get on this one and what you think of your result!
Discussion questions: What classic personality type do you most relate with? How do you see yourself? If you’d like, write a bit about this topic.
