Do you love bananas? I’m not sure if they are my favorite fruit, but they are a staple fruit in my life… especially in the summer. Just freeze them, whirl them in the food processor with some chocolate (or plain), and you’ve got the healthiest “ice cream” imaginable. I can’t imagine a summer without bananas, although maybe I heard bananas as we know them are in jeopardy. Terrible! I hope I can figure out how to have a banana tree in central TX to get my fix 😉
But this blog post isn’t really supposed to be about bananas… It’s about word association tests. Are you familiar with them at all? They were popularized in the 1950s, and many marketers still use them today.
(If you watch Mad Men, you might notice that they often do an internal word association poll with the creative people when a new ad is being developed.) While these tests may not be the most psychologically sound, they are at least a little revealing. I thought it would be a fun quick quiz for a Friday to try one.
So head on over to The Banana Test, and pick what you most associate with banana! Come back here to let me know what you think of your result… and word association tests in general. If y’all like this kind of test, I’m excited to do more 🙂
