Quiz: Are You Red or Green? Take This Holiday Quiz to Find Out!

Today’s quiz combines two of my favorite subjects – colors and the holidays! For me, the holidays are a very visual experience. I love all the decorations, lights, and (if I’m lucky) snow on the ground.

When it comes to the holidays, there’s only two colors to think of: red and green. Which one of these colors are you? Are you passionate like red? Or are you peaceful like green? Take my quiz to find out: Are You Red or Green?

The Santa Hat Quiz

Isn’t it funny how so many people wear Santa hats during the holidays? No matter how much the times change, Santa hats never go out of style… at least not during the month of December. There’s something so fun and whimsical about putting a Santa hat on. I will admit to wearing a Santa hat on occasion, although I’m by no means a SantaCon devotee or anything. (Now that there’s anything wrong with SantaCon, as long as the attendees don’t park in front of my driveway like last year!)

I love Santa hats because first of all they’re very cheap. And you can buy them everywhere! For some reason, a lot of people are afraid to wear Santa hats (maybe blame SantaCon’s reputation???), and because of that, I find that wearing a Santa hat really gets people to smile during the holiday season. I especially like to wear them shopping during the holidays, because everyone is so stressed out in the stores. Wearing a Santa hat totally lightens the mood, at least for me!

After seeing so many folks out with Santa hats (including myself sometimes), I decided to write a quiz about it. Take my latest quiz: The Santa Hat Quiz to spread a little more holiday cheer today. This quiz is as easy as they come. Just simply pick the Santa hat that you like best, and you’ll learn all about what sort of Santa you would be. You may be surprised by your outcome. Take this Santa hat with your friends to see if you’d all be a matching or motley crew!

Give The Santa Hat Quiz a go, and let me know what you think of your result. Does your result match what kind of Santa you imagine yourself as? Will you be donning a Santa hat this year? Comment below and let me know!

Quiz: What Kind of Christmas Card Are You?

Are you the type of person who sends out Chirstmas cards every year? I like to keep this tradition alive every year, even though it’s a lot of work. I think it’s so nice both to receive and send hand written cards. I love to take a moment to write out a message and address a card to someone I care about each holiday year. And I love receiving cards from my friends and family.

I get that Christmas cards are super old school, and maybe it’s more environmentally friendly to do something digital instead. However, I keep the paper cards I receive forever. So I really do think that paper Christmas cards are worth the extra effort and cost. At least, I always appreciate when people I know take the time to send them.

If you haven’t done so already, you’re probably getting ready to mail out your holiday cards. This is definitely the week to do it (although I do love the people in my life who send New Years and even Valentines cards instead). And if you’re anything like me, you agonize over what cards to send. Funny? Sentimental? Spiritual? The cards you send say a lot about you.

Unsure what your holiday card personality is? Take my latest quiz: What Kind of Christmas Card Are You? You’ll find out what kind of holiday card you should be sending this year. And for you creative types, you can simply make the type of card instead of buy it. (And if it’s too late to send out cards to match your personality, there’s always next year!)

Give What Kind of Christmas Card Are You? a try, and let me know what you think of it. Does your outcome match your personality? Comment below and let me know. Are you sending out cards this year? If so, what are they like?

Quiz: The Christmas Tree Test

Merry (one week before) Christmas Eve! Are you feeling the Christmas spirt yet? I am a little more every day, and writing lots of Christmas quizzes with hot beverages is definitely helping. I love how the Christmas season builds as the holiday nears, and if all goes well, we get in the holiday spirt more each day.

One thing that has been getting me in the Christmas spirit this week is all the light up Christmas trees I’ve been seeing through windows in my neighborhood. There’s nothing that makes me feel more Christmas-y than  lit up, fully decorated Christmas trees. Whether it’s my own tree, a neighbor’s tree, or even outdoor trees! I love Christmas trees, and I especially am fond of how unique each one is.

I love getting a Christmas tree from the same lot here in the city every year. I don’t get a super big tree, because I have a tiny car. In fact, I often end up with the smallest tree on the lot. Then when I get the Christmas tree home, I love to put on some Christmas music and decorate it with all of the ornaments I’ve collected over the years. And then I top the tradition off with a brand new ornament.

My love for Christmas trees drove me to write my latest quiz: The Christmas Tree Test – simply pick your favorite Christmas tree, and learn what it says about you! It doesn’t get any easier than this when it comes to Christmas personality quizzes. I get it; you’re busy during the holidays but still need a quiz break.

Give The Christmas Tree Test a go, and let me know what you think of it. Do you think the Christmas tree result you got reflects you? Comment below and tell me! Are you going to have a Christmas tree this year? If so, what will it look like?

Quiz: How Much Do You Love the Holidays?

I love the holidays, and I don’t think that’s a secret. I’ve written dozens, if not hundreds, of holiday quizzes. And my love of the holidays doesn’t stop there. If anything, it starts there! I love watching so many holiday movies each year. I watch all the greats, but some of those cheesier movies as well. And of course, any holiday would not be complete with lots of treat baking.

Are you one of those people who is crazy about the holidays? Do you get your Christmas lights out the first time you feel a chill in the air? Now that is something I wish I did every year, although here in Texas the chill doesn’t always come 🙂 I envy people who have their houses all lit up and decorated for the holidays. I wish I was that organized.

Some of us really have holiday spirit, but not all of us get into the holidays every year. Are you ever accused of being a total Scrooge? Christmas may not be your thing! Hey, that’s totally okay. I don’t always feel the holidays each year, and in order to not be a Scrooge, I definitely have to do the holidays my way. No matter what, you can’t be that much of a Scrooge if you’re hear taking this quiz!

Whether you’re a Santa or a Scrooge, take my newest quiz – How Much Do You Love the Holidays? You’ll find out how you compare on the holiday obsession scale. I find that this scale fluctuates for me from year to year (or even day to day some years), so it’s fun to check in every so often and see where I stand.

Quiz: Are You An Elf or a Reindeer?

Happy holidays! It’s that time of year again. Santa will soon be coming through with his sleigh to bring toys to all the children of the world. But as we know, he couldn’t do it without his helpers. And thank goodness for Santa’s helpers, because I love presents!

I believe that there are two types of people in this world – reindeer and elves.  And the world couldn’t function without either of them… and we certain wouldn’t have Christmas without them. Do you know the difference?

Reindeers are the steady and directed creatures of this world. Reindeers take orders well and work hard. Reindeers have the endurance and grit to get the job done. If you need to depend on someone, depend on a reindeer type.

Elves are the creative and playful creatures of this world. Elves are creators and very industrious. But Elves don’t just work hard – they play hard too. Just when you think an elf is being too responsible, she’ll pull a prank on you. If you need inspiration, then turn to an elf.

If I had to say for myself, I definitely am an elf. I love to write quizzes, something I could definitely see elves doing. I am a hard worker, but I don’t like to work for too long without a play break. I try to be as detail oriented as possible in my work though, and repetitive work doesn’t bother me as long as I have some time to be creative. Besides, just like an elf, I love candy and maple syrup 😉

What about you? Which are you – reindeer or elf? Take my quiz to find out! Are You An Elf or a Reindeer?

Give Are You An Elf or a Reindeer? a try, and let me know what you get. If you had to pick, would you prefer for be an elf or reindeer? Comment below and let me know!

Quiz: Should You Celebrate Buy Nothing Day?

Happy Buy Nothing Day!

Happy Black Friday!

Wait… what? If you haven’t noticed, it’s sort of a confusing day today. It’s both Buy Nothing Day and Black Friday. On the one had, we have a day that rallies against consumerism – Buy Nothing Day. On the other hand, Black Friday is all about consumerism… scoring some deals on holiday gifts.

I feel like both events are very valid. First of all, I’ll defend Black Friday a bit. Yes, many people do take it too far with fighting over items, standing in line for hours, and buying things that they don’t need. It is such an insane consumer extravaganza. However, I do shop Black Friday sales myself, selectively. I do feel like the holidays are too oriented towards gifts, but I also do buy people gifts on a limited budget. I think we all agree that there’s some huge savings on Black Friday, and I don’t fault anyone for wanting to save some money on their holiday shopping – me included.

On the other hand, I also do feel like the holidays are way too commercial. For so many people, love is expressed by buying things we can’t afford and that our family and friends don’t need anyway. I love the idea of homemade gifts, repurposed items, and even the gift of time or service. And I think Buy Nothing Day supports this – which I think is awesome. To be completely honest, in an ideal world, I would fully participate in Buy Nothing Day every year because that is where my heart is at.

So what are we to do? First of all, take my new quiz – Should You Celebrate Buy Nothing Day? You’ll learn whether you should shop til you drop today or drop out of the consumer rat race.

Take Should You Celebrate Buy Nothing Day? , and let me know what you think. What did you get on this quiz? Do you think the holidays are too commercial in general? I’m curious to know what you think of a movement like Buy Nothing Day.

Quiz: Are You Christmas or Thanksgiving?

Another year of holidays, another chance for debate… What’s better, Christmas or Thanksgiving? I always think I fall solidly into the Thanksgiving camp, until Thanksgiving is over. Then I’m looking forward to Christmas. So I guess I’d say I prefer Thanksgiving eleven months out of the year and Christmas one month out of the year! All seriousness aside, I go back and forth a lot over which holiday I like best.  I love all of the food and planning associated with Thanksgiving, but I also love the coziness and traditions of Christmas. Thank goodness we have both holidays each year.

Some people prefer Thanksgiving because it’s a short holiday centered around eating. Not much stress is involved, and at least you’re full at the end. Sure, you don’t get presents, but you do get to eat your favorite foods. In my opinion, pumpkin pie almost pushes Thanksgiving over the edge. Not to mention football. And you don’t have to worry about what gifts to get everyone. Not to mention, Thanksgiving is a lot easier on your wallet (unless you’re doing all the hosting).

Some people prefer Christmas because of Santa, presents, and sweets. Christmas seems to get longer every year, and true fans love it that way. It’s true that you don’t get all the Thanksgiving classic foods automatically at Christmas, but who’s to say you can’t serve them anyway? And did we mention Christmas cookies? And fruitcake? Well, maybe that one is a minus. It’s hard to compete with the feeling of opening presents on Christmas morning.

So what about you? Take my quiz Are You Christmas or Thanksgiving?, to find out! And happy holidays either way!

Give Are You Christmas or Thanksgiving? a go, and let me know what you think. Which holiday do you prefer? Or are you like me and have trouble choosing between Christmas and Thanksgiving?
