Do you like waffles? I absolutely love them. Homemade waffles for dinner are a bit of a tradition in the Blogthings house (strawberries and whipped cream on mine please), and I couldn’t resist putting out a quiz for National Waffle Day today.
If you like waffles as much as I do, check out my latest quiz: What Kind of Waffle Are You? The results may surprise you. Let me know what you get on this one and if you’re also a waffle fan.
Do you like a trendy breakfast or upscale brunch? I have to admit that I am late to the breakfast game entirely. I have been a breakfast hater for most of my life, but now it is probably my favorite meal. I do like very simple breakfasts like breakfast tacos and pancakes. However, I do like to get my fancy brunch on sometimes, complete with avocado toast and smoothie bowls!
What about you? Do you partake in some of the latest breakfast trends? Whether you’re a breakfast traditionalist or a breakfast hipster, you may enjoy my latest quiz: What Trendy Breakfast Are You?
Give this one a go, and let me know what you think. Would you eat what you got as a result? What’s the most interesting breakfast that you’ve ever had?
Do you like breakfast in bed? I do, as long as it’s my last morning sleeping in a hotel. I don’t really want to get toast crumbs in a bed that I’ll be sleeping in 😉
I was feeling like I could use a pick me up this week, so I have been dreaming of breakfast in bed. In my experience, there’s very little that a lazy morning can’t cure. And a good lazy morning starts with someone else making breakfast for you.
Does breakfast in bed sound good to you? Take The Breakfast in Bed Test, and see what your ideal breakfast in bed says about you.

Do you like brunch? I love a leisurely brunch (or even breakfast) whenever I can get one. I generally prefer to cook my own brunch, taking my time and making exactly what I want to eat. (Like homemade blueberry pancakes… yum!) But there’s also something magical about going out to a lazy brunch as well. And it’s nice to have someone clean up for you when it’s over.
I thought it would be fun to write a quiz about brunch, which I consider very different than breakfast. For me, breakfast is more about getting ready for the day. It’s functional, sometimes rather boring, and often solitary. I like breakfast just fine, but it’s nothing I get too excited about.
Brunch, on the other hand, is an event – even if I’m the only one eating it. By definition, it’s a little lackadaisical because it starts later in the day. Brunch tends to be (and should be) more indulgent. Brunch is often social and adventurous. It includes dishes you normally don’t eat and people you normally don’t see. Brunch can be many ways. It can be romantic and private or social and public. Brunch can be upscale and chic or homey and traditional.
Now that I’ve got you thinking about brunch, I’d like to present my latest quiz: What Brunch Dish Are You? Find out what kind of brunch-er you may be and which brunch dish best suits you. Let me know what you get on this quiz and what you think of your result.
I love jelly donuts! They were the first donut I really liked as a kid, and every time I have one, they take me back to my childhood. I don’t know why, but I definitely think that a jelly donut is best enjoyed in the cooler months. I love to have mine with a warm cup of tea or coffee.
Do you love breakfast cereal? I was addicted to it as a kid. I had it every morning for breakfast, often while watching cartoons (which often had commercials for the cereal I was eating). It was an integral part of my childhood, and I don’t think I outgrew cereal for breakfast until I was in my late teens. I’ll still have it occasionally for a quick fix or craving.
As an adult, I still like breakfast cereal just as much. I have switched from having it first thing in the morning to last thing at night. For some reason, a bowl of cereal is the nighttime snack I crave most… especially while I’m watching TV. I have asked around, and it seems like I’m not the only one with this unusual midnight snack craving.
Of course, many of us think that the cereal you choose has a lot to do with your personality. I tend to agree. My cereal choice has changed along with me over the years. When I was younger, I liked more sugary choices. As a older kid, I liked plainer cereal and lots of it. As I got into adulthood, and more responsible, I choose more whole grain type cereals.

I am a huge muffin fan. Even though I want to be a morning person, I’m not there yet – and having healthy muffins around to grab is must for me. If I don’t get my muffin fix, there’s a chance I’ll eat something much worse for breakfast. While I know that muffins aren’t as good for me as a green smoothie, they’re better than a donut or handful of chocolate chips 😉
I’m so obsessed with muffins that I wrote a quiz about them: What Kind of Muffin Are You? Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. What’s your result? Does it fit you well? And what’s your favorite kind of muffin?
As a special treat, I’ve included one of our favorite “healthy muffin” recipes here at the Blogthings house. I’m a big fan of these muffins because they are packed with fruit, and they are partially made with a whole grain. They aren’t overly sweet, but they don’t taste too healthy either 🙂 Let me know if you make them!
Blogthings Orange Kissed Blueberry Muffins
3/4 cup milk (I do almond milk)
1 teaspoon orange juice
1 1/2 teaspoons ground flax seeds
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup white whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup honey (or other liquid sweetener)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 cup blueberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the milk, orange juice, and ground flax seeds together in a small bowl. Set aside.
Mix the dry ingredients (flours, baking powder, and salt) together in a large bowl.
Combine the wet ingredients (applesauce, honey, and vanilla) together in another bowl. Stir in the milk, orange juice, and flax seed mixture. Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and mix lightly. Fold in the berries and orange muffins. Mix as little as possible.
Bake in non-stick muffin pans until lightly browned, about 25 minutes.
Toast is one of my top comfort breakfasts, especially when the weather is cool. I like it almost all ways, but with a little jam is my favorite. Add a warm cup of black tea, and I’m in heaven 🙂 In fact, I think that the smell of toast toasting is my favorite morning smell. What about you?
I wrote this quiz before artisanal toast became I thing. And before avocado toast became a thing. I guess I was just ahead of my time… as well as anyone who took the quiz 🙂 Luckily, toast trends may come and go, but toast never really goes out of style.
Take my quiz: What Does Your Toast Say About You? Let me know what you got on this one, and if you think your result fits. Are you sick of trendy toast? Or is there no such thing as too much toast?
Is breakfast your favorite meal of the day? I will be the first to admit that I am not a natural breakfast eater. I just don’t like the taste of eggs, and that really limits my breakfast selection. Over the years, however, I have made my peace with breakfast and actually enjoy it. Homemade granola and yogurt are my jam, but I also enjoy fruit, homemade bread, oatmeal, bagels, and even the occasional breakfast taco or burrito. I guess it’s pretty clear that I love carbs.
More than the food at breakfast, I really love the vibe of breakfast if done right. I like a slow breakfast on a quiet morning, even I (especially) if I cook it. I find it really relaxing to have a lazy morning that starts with tea, and eventually evolves to some breakfast getting fixed. Maybe some music is playing. Breakfast may be served a little later than usual, but that’s okay because it can be bigger than usual in that case.
Of course, a nice breakfast doesn’t have to involve eating at home. I also like being at a cozy diner or hole in the wall spot at the crack of dawn. Or heck, even right before dawn. There’s a real sweetness to being at a place that’s buzzing when the rest of the world is quiet. These are some of the breakfasts that I remember most fondly.
What breakfast do you prefer? Take this quick and easy image quiz to get a little insight into your personality: The Breakfast Test. It’s very simple… just click on the image of the breakfast that you like the best, and you’ll get a personality profile. And due to my own quirks, there are plenty of options for both egg lovers and egg haters!
Do you love scones? Until recently, I wasn’t really aware of what a scone was, but being the budding Anglophile that I am, I had to do some research. And by research, I mean both some reading… and some eating. A scone is not like an American biscuit, contrary to popular opinion. A scone is more like a shortbread cookie – crumbly, dry, and delicious. It is not fluffy and goes perfectly with a cup of tea. I love that you can put jam on scones too, because I am a big jam fan.
I’m not a huge scone eater, but there’s something about the simple scone that calls out to me. It’s more refined than a biscuit or a muffin, although I do eat plenty of those too. Eating a scone makes me feel like a true Anglophile, especially when I eat one with some good English breakfast tea. Is there anything more once in a lifetime than getting up early for a British royal wedding across the pond, with tea and scones? I love the idea of getting up early for watching a live British event here in Texas, and definitely a British breakfast has to go with it!
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never had a scone or whether they’re your favorite morning treat. My latest quiz What Kind of Scone Are You?, is perfect for you either way. How can I be sure? The outcomes are so tasty, you’ll have your mouth watering. Even if you just ate breakfast! Tap into your inner anglophile (or breakfast lover) and give this quiz a go.
