What Part of Baking Are You?

Do you love to bake? I am obsessed with baking. I bake as often as I can, and I enjoy trying new recipes. After a difficult day, nothing helps me relax more quickly than getting out the measuring cups and flour. Baking gets my mind off my troubles, and it’s great aromatherapy. And that’s not even considering the finished product.

I love to bake all sorts of things. My prize recipe is for chocolate chip banana muffins. I also make a darn good almond chocolate chip cookie, and a very nice from scratch birthday cake if I have the time. I try to go for more natural and organic types of recipes, but if something really indulgent sounds good. I’ll go for that too!

My baking obsession was clearly the inspiration for my latest quiz: What Part of Baking Are You? Unlike most of my food quizzes, this one is not about pictorial inspiration as much as it is about tool geekery. As many of you dedicated bakers know, the tools you use can be as important as the recipe. And that’s what inspired me to write a quiz featuring my favorite baking tools!

You Are the Recipe Creation

“You try to keep things open. You dislike committing to people.
You are self-contained and self-sufficient. You know how to take care of yourself.”

I am self-sufficient, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I dislike committing to people.

“You are a risk taker. You love to roll the dice on everything.
You have high morals and live life right. You have great confidence in yourself and others.”

I’d say I take a healthy amount of risks. I guess I have high morals, but it’s more like high expectations of myself and others. I try my best, and I expect the same from everyone else.

“You are the rolling–

You are on your own time table. You hate being confined to strict schedules
You have been through a lot, and it’s hard to shake you. You can deal with most things that come your way.

You are secretly a rebel. You need space and freedom to do things your own way.
You are full of wonder and curiosity. You feel a strong connection to the world.”
That is spot-on for the way I’ve been feeling lately–ever since I finally left a job that I hated 😉

I’m not that impressive of a baker, but I also don’t really try. The first time I baked the pre-cut Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies, I burned them, lol. But I’ve gotten better and actually made edible food, lol.

I am the Folding… interesting and true…

You quietly examine life’s lessons and see multiple meanings in everything. You are philosophical.
You believe that the most important thing is to be true to yourself. Only you know your heart’s real desires.

People often misunderstand you. You are more of an optimist than you seem.
You’re proud of who you are. You’re living life on your own terms, even if others don’t agree.
