What era of time should you see?
Are you interested in time travel? I have been interested in time travel for a long time – ever since I saw the Back to the Future movies growing up. I loved to imagine how exciting it would be to see when your parents grew up… or when your children would grow up. I was immediately hooked on the idea of traveling through time.
Once I grew up, I became a much nerdier fan of science fiction, and time travel is still as intriguing to me. I’m fascinated with visiting all sorts of past events, as well as exploring the future. Even more fascinating to me is the idea of alternate histories, crossing timelines, and changing the way events unfold. I love to see how different writers deal with the philosophy of time travel. And I like to come up with my own predictions about what would happen.
I’ve still think I’d like to travel in time, but it would be scary! I’d be afraid of doing something dumb and changing the world forever. I’d also be afraid to see how the future turns out – although curiosity would get the better of me. I’d be most excited to see if history describes the past accurately.
Would you like to travel through time and space? If you would, then take my latest quiz: When Should You Travel in Time? It will tell you when you should most travel to. You’ll have to figure out the where part 😉

What vacation would bring you bliss?
I believe that travel should be as blissful of an experience as possible. Otherwise, what’s the point of all the hassle – the travel time, the money spent, the uncomfortable conditions? When I travel, I try to not just travel for travel’s sake. Instead, I try to anticipate what I will really enjoy. A mediocre trip can put me off wandering the world, and I definitely don’t want that!
Of course, what makes a trip fabulous for all of us differs. And I’ve even found for me that it changes depending on what I need in my life. Right now, I’m in a low key, off the beaten path kind of mood. I’d love to stay at a small family farm or cabin. I’ve probably been listening to too many sounds of the city! Other times, all I’ve wanted is culture, city lights, and a fast pace of life. I think those have been the times in my life where I was feeling a bit under-stimulated and bored.
I suppose I think that the ideal vacation gets us away from the things we have too much of and gets us to more of the things we crave. It’s a pretty basic idea, but I think it’s one that is difficult to implement. How many of you have repeated a trip you once enjoyed years later only to find it dull and a disappointment? I know I have.
Our concept of an ideal trip or as I put it “heaven on earth” may be hard to grasp at times, so I thought it would be fun to write a quiz about it: What’s Your Heaven on Earth? This quiz will hopefully tell you what your ideal getaway is… at least for right now.

- What do you get for What’s Your Heaven on Earth?
Is it true for you?
- If you could go on your dream vacation for a couple weeks where would you go? Since this is a dream scenario, your budget is unlimited 🙂

What type of Greek yogurt are you?
Anyone who knows me, especially Mr. Blogthings, knows that I’m obsessed with Greek yogurt. After discovering Greek yogurt a few years ago, I still eat it regularly. Have you tried it? Greek yogurt is basically a strained yogurt that is very thick and tangy. It has half the sugar and twice the protein of regular yogurt, which means it’s a very sustaining snack. I didn’t think I liked yogurt until I tried Greek yogurt, and I was an instant convert.
I am not too picky about my Greek yogurt – I like all kinds (as long as it’s really Greek yogurt and not “Greek” yogurt that’s just yogurt with thickeners… yuck!). I tend to do low fat or fat free for everyday eating, but I will definitely eat full fat for an occasional indulgence. I like it plain or with my own toppings – nuts, honey, cacao nibs, berries… and I also like all of the exotic flavors it comes in. Recently a few grocery stores nearby had sales on Greek yogurt as part of a healthy New Year’s sale. Of course I stocked up, and looking at all the varieties made me think that Greek yogurt would be a fun quiz topic. There are so many interesting and exotic flavors… how could I not write a quiz about it?
Take my latest quiz, What Flavor Greek Yogurt Are You?, and tell me what you think. Even if you aren’t a fan of yogurt, I hope you’ll enjoy this quiz. Not only was it inspired by my favorite tasty treat, it was also inspired by the culture and beauty of Greece – as well as mediterranean and tropical fruit. So you definitely don’t have to be a Greek yogurt fan to appreciate it, but I’m sure it helps 🙂
Comment below and let me know what you got on What Flavor Greek Yogurt Are You? What do you think of your result? Is it accurate? And are you a fan of Greek yogurt? If so, what kind?
What italian city should you visit?
It’s been unusually gray and downright dreary in my usually sunny part of the world. I know it’s winter and all, but I’m ready for a change of pace. I don’t really have the time or money for a vacation around the world, but I still can dream. And one of the first places that came to mind was Italy. Makes sense – the first thing I think of when I think of Italy is beaches. The second thing is gelato 😉
Now I’ve never actually been to Italy, but I sure feel like I have. I picture it perfectly in my mind. I can thank an active imagination and many movies for that. But can’t you just picture it? Sipping amazing espresso drinks in a quite little cafe. Walking through historic sites and museums. Exploring little flea markets with amazing finds to bring back home. I feel like I’m there already!
Okay, so I got little carried away with my Italian travel dreams. So carried away, in fact, that I wrote a quiz. What City in Italy Should You Visit? Of course I assume you couldn’t visit just one… but at least you’ll have a jumping off point.
Hopefully this quiz will transport you away just like it did for me when I was writing it. It was exactly what I needed to cure my dreary day blues. Just writing it transported me away to the ancient sites Rome… and then the canals Venice… and then Florence… and finally Milan 🙂 Really excited to take this quiz myself, because even I’m not sure what I’ll get. Every city sounds equally good.
Take What City in Italy Should You Visit? and let me know what you get. Also, I’m curious – have you been to Italy before? What’s it like? And if you haven’t been, would you like to go?
What kind of traveler are you?
Do you ever have one of those days where you just feel like you want to get away? I love to dream up travel ideas and wish lists whenever I’m having a dull or difficult day at work. For me, travel is both inspiring and renewing. Seeing the world encourages me to reach high and broaden my perspective. A change of scenery gets me out of a rut, and before I know it, I’m thinking of new and creative ways. Even though travel is a huge interruption, I’m a big advocate of it. It’s literally life changing and definitely worth the hassle.
I’m always fascinated by how different people travel. Some people I know only travel to visit friends, while others only travel to visit entirely new places. I have friends who rough it, and I have friends who save up and splurge for amazing luxury vacations. The friends I envy most may the be ones who travel to little reached corners of the world to pitch in and do amazing volunteer work. What could be cooler than that?
My travels have taken me to many places, but for me, I tend to enjoy returning to places I know and love. There’s nothing like catching up with old friends at a favorite coffeeshop or walking down a street I’ve been walking down every few years for most of my life. Right now I’m more into memories and nostalgia than exploration, but I know that could change at any time. I know there’s an inner adventurer in me that’s waiting to be let out of her cage 🙂
So when I take What’s Your Travel Personality?, I am more likely to get The Bonder or The Sophisticate these days. What about you? What’s your result, and does it describe you well? Comment below and let me know.
Are you an aisle seat, middle seat, or window seat?
Getting up bright and early tomorrow (actually, so early that it won’t be bright!) to travel back to my hometown for Thanksgiving. Oh, Thanksgiving travel – I both love it and dread it. It’s great to catch up with my family during the holidays, but I know that no one likes the holiday travel slog. I try to make the best of it though. What about you? Are you traveling this year?
Anytime I take an airplane, I can’t help but think about how there are “window seat personalities” and “aisle seat personalities.” I am definitely a window seat personality. I wouldn’t mind the access of an aisle seat, but I always seem to get physically bumped by other passengers. So I prefer to tuck in to my little window seat. Of course, the view is amazing from up there, but I even like just having a wall to myself. I can curl up a bit and know that no one is going to bother me.
What about you? Do you request a window seat or an aisle seat? And is there anyone reading who’s crazy enough to prefer a middle seat? In my informal poll of people I know, people seem to be split evenly between aisle and window seats. My favorite thing to ever have happen is when Mr. Blogthings and I get on a little plane with two seats on each side of the row. That way he can have his aisle seat, I can have my window seat, and there’s no middle seat that anyone is stuck with. It’s a rare occurrence, but it’s a happy one.
Be sure to take my quiz, What Airplane Seat Are You?, to confirm your airplane seat personality. Let me know what you get. Does is match up with your actual preference?
Do you love adventure… or at least dream of it? I think we all do. I’ve noticed that for myself, my idea of adventure has changed over time. When I was younger, I used to dream of the places I could move to and visit. I traveled to some exciting places like rural Uruguay, mainland China, and the New Zealand coast. Later on, I really got into adventure sports. I enjoyed pushing myself physically and mentally. I remember how much of a thrill I got repelling down a cliff and tubing with glowworms.
Now I seek adventure in chiller ways. I think life is a grand adventure, and I like to take smaller every day risks like starting a new art project or trying to cook a new cuisine. Maybe one day I will get back to my globetrotting, adrenaline seeking ways, but this is not the phase of life for that. I make sure to find small adventures every day though. Adventure is not about where you go or how many bragging rights you get for what you’re doing. It’s about trying something new and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
I thought it would be fun to do a quiz that matches up personalty types with adventure pictures. So, here you go! The Adventure Test All you need to do is pick the image of the adventure that appeals to you the most, and you’ll get some interesting feedback on your personality. Depending on the day, any of these adventures could appeal to me.
Comment below, and let me know what you think of your result from The Adventure Test. Does it fit you well? Also please tell me what your greatest adventure has been so far. It can be anything from traveling the world to changing schools 🙂
