The Breakfast in Bed Test

breakfast-in-bed

Do you like breakfast in bed? I do, as long as it’s my last morning sleeping in a hotel. I don’t really want to get toast crumbs in a bed that I’ll be sleeping in šŸ˜‰

I was feeling like I could use a pick me up this week, so I have been dreaming of breakfast in bed. In my experience, there’s very little that a lazy morning can’t cure. And a good lazy morning starts with someone else making breakfast for you.

Does breakfast in bed sound good to you? TakeĀ The Breakfast in Bed Test, and see what your ideal breakfast in bed says about you.

What Brunch Dish Are You?

raspberry french toast

Do you like brunch? I love a leisurely brunch (or even breakfast) whenever I can get one. I generally prefer to cook my own brunch, taking my time and making exactly what I want to eat. (Like homemade blueberry pancakes… yum!) But there’s also something magical about going out to a lazy brunch as well. And it’s nice to have someone clean up for you when it’s over.

I thought it would be fun to write a quiz about brunch, which I consider very different than breakfast. For me, breakfast is more about getting ready for the day. It’s functional, sometimes rather boring, and often solitary. I like breakfast just fine, but it’s nothing I get too excited about.

Brunch, on the other hand, is an event – even if I’m the only one eating it. By definition, it’s a little lackadaisicalĀ because it starts later in the day. Brunch tends to be (and should be) more indulgent. Brunch is often social and adventurous. It includes dishes you normally don’t eat and people you normally don’t see. Brunch can be many ways. It can be romantic and private or social and public. Brunch can be upscale and chic or homey and traditional.

Now that I’ve got you thinking about brunch, I’d like to present my latest quiz:Ā What Brunch Dish Are You?Ā Find out what kind of brunch-er you may be and which brunch dish best suits you. Let me know what you get on this quiz and what you think of your result.

What Flavor Jelly Donut Are You?

blueberry jelly donut

I love jelly donuts! They were the first donut I really liked as a kid, and every time I have one, they take me back to my childhood. I don’t know why, but I definitely think that a jelly donut is best enjoyed in the cooler months. I love to have mine with a warm cup of tea or coffee.

New Quiz: The Cereal Test

six different bowls of cereal

What kind of cereal are you?

Do you love breakfast cereal? I was addicted to it as a kid. I had it every morning for breakfast, often while watching cartoons (which often had commercials for the cereal I was eating). It was an integral part of my childhood, and I don’t think I outgrew cereal for breakfast until I was in my late teens. I’ll still have it occasionally for a quick fix or craving.

As an adult, I still like breakfast cereal just as much. I have switched from having it first thing in the morning to last thing at night. For some reason, a bowl of cereal is the nighttime snack I crave most… especially while I’m watching TV. I have asked around, and it seems like I’m not the only one with this unusual midnight snack craving.

Of course, many of us think that the cereal you choose has a lot to do with your personality. I tend to agree. My cereal choice has changed along with me over the years. When I was younger, I liked more sugary choices. As a older kid, I liked plainer cereal and lots of it. As I got into adulthood, and more responsible, I choose more whole grain type cereals.

What about you? Do you love cereal and think your choice says something about you? TakeĀ The Cereal TestĀ to find out.

Discussion topics (Comment below and let me know any or all of these):

  1. What do you get on The Cereal Test?Ā Is it true for you?
  2. Do you eat cereal? Do you eat it for breakfast? Or like me, do you eat it more as a snack?
  3. What was your favorite cereal as a kid? Do you have the same favorite as an adult?
  4. And since breakfast cereal and cartoons go so well together, what was your favorite cartoon as a kid?

Quiz: What Kind of Muffin Are You?

If you were a muffin, what kind of muffin would you be?

If you were a muffin, what kind of muffin would you be?

I am a huge muffin fan. Even though I want to be a morning person, I’m not there yet – and having healthy muffins around to grab is must for me. If I don’t get my muffin fix, there’s a chance I’ll eat something much worse for breakfast. While I know that muffins aren’t as good for me as a green smoothie, they’re better than a donut or handful of chocolate chips šŸ˜‰

I’m so obsessed with muffins that I wrote a quiz about them:Ā What Kind of Muffin Are You?Ā Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. What’s your result? Does it fit you well? And what’s your favorite kind of muffin?

As a special treat, I’ve included one of our favorite “healthy muffin” recipes here at the Blogthings house. I’m a big fan of these muffins because they are packed with fruit, and they are partially made with a whole grain. They aren’t overly sweet, but they don’t taste too healthy either šŸ™‚ Let me know if you make them!

Bake in non-stick muffin pans until lightly browned, about 25 minutes.

What Does Your Toast Say About You?

Toast is one of my top comfort breakfasts, especially when the weather is cool. I like it almost all ways, but with a little jam is my favorite. Add a warm cup of black tea, and I’m in heaven šŸ™‚ What about you?

You’re Not Alone if You Want a Scone

whatkindofsconeareyouI’m not a huge scone eater, but there’s something about the simple scone that calls out to me. It’s more refined than a biscuit or a muffin. Eating a scone makes me feel like a true Anglophile, especially when I eat one with tea.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never had a scone or whether they’re your favorite morning treat. My latest quiz What Kind of Scone Are You?, is perfect for you either way. How can I be sure? The outcomes are so tasty, you’ll have your mouth watering. Even if you just ate breakfast!
