New Quiz: What Elemental Archetype Are You?

bird with reflection on a pond

What elemental archetype best represents you? Water, wood, metal, air, or earth?

I love the idea of personality archetypes. Even though they are quite general and we don’t fit into them specifically, I think they are pretty universal for a reason. We all know a shy person, a passionate person, a caring person, and a rational person. Archetypes are a good shortcut for painting a picture of a person, which is why we see them in art, literature, and film so much. And even if you defy archetypes (and I think we all do to one extent or another), I bet there is at least one you relate to.

Whenever I find a new set of archetypes, I save them for a future quiz. I like archetype quizzes that have very distinct archetypes, and usually that means quite a few outcomes. My latest quiz is an exception to that rule. The outcomes are based on five of the major elements – metal, wood, air, water, and earth. I never knew how these could relate to personality archetypes, and I think the results are very interesting and distinct.

To find out your archetype, check out What Elemental Archetype Are You? I’m curious to know what you think of your result and archetype quizzes in general. Let me know by commenting below 🙂

Discussion topics (Comment below and let me know any or all of these):

  1. What do you get on What Elemental Archetype Are You? Is it true for you?
  2. Is there an element that you are attracted to? Is there an element you are afraid of?
  3. Do you have an archetype that you believe fits well with you? It could be an MBTI result, an enneagram result, or a kind of character seen in literature?
  4. Take What’s Your Power Element? What do you get? Is it true for you?

    You Are a Philosopher

You fall under the water element. Like water, you are fluid and reflective.
You are both observant and curious. You like to see where everything is going.

You are less dogmatic than most people. You don’t have a set idea of how you want things to go.
You are open and adaptable. Unlike others, you realize how little you can control in life.

You are modest and objective. You don’t spend too much time congratulating yourself about anything.
Instead, you think more about what you appreciate in others. You love ingenuity and creativity.
Not so much reflective, but I really like air and earth. I’m a little afraid of metal and fire.

    This is all true.
    2. Water is fascinating and attractive but also frightening. Air and Earth are equally drawing. Like standing on a solid mountain but still high up in the winds. And Fire is like Water, a little goes a long way. But it’s glorious.
    3. I googled Archetypes and found this. http://www.soulcraft.co/essays/the_12_common_archetypes.html
After reading these, the ones that apply to me are: The Innocent, The Caregiver (Ego Types), The Creator (Soul Type), The Sage (Self Type). On other Blogthings quizzes I got INFJ and 5 enneagram.
    4. METAL
Power colors: white, gold, and silver, Energy: contracting, Season: fall
Persistent (and maybe even a little bit stubborn). If you see something you want, you go for it. You have a lot of strength, and it’s difficult to get you down. Very logical, you tend to analyze everything going on in your life. This sounds good but I doubt my go-for-it’ness and not feeling easily dejected.

Haha! I have that 12 archetype thing saved now for a future quiz idea 🙂 Great find!

A lot of my friends are of the “IN” personality type. I’m an INTP myself, and often a 5 enneagram as well.

    1. You Are an Alchemist. I hope I’m honorable! The world is definitely fascinating
    2. I really like Earth. Fire can be cool too, but I’m also scared of it
    3. Probably, but I don’t remember. I like strong type women (especially in fantasy books) too
    4. Your Power Element is Fire. Hmm no, definitely not me haha. Though I hope I’m full of light!

    1. You Are a Philosopher
    2. Wind, fire
    3. 5w4, the iconoclast
    4. Your Power Element is Earth (my choices weren’t dedicated and responsible or ambitious and goal oriented so I don’t know how I got this result)

Interesting! Since there is no researcher outcome for this quiz, I think Philosopher is the closest. Maybe mixed with a bit of Alchemist too.

Interesting quiz topic indeed, bringing inspiration and philosophical reflections. Gonna set off time to take a few more archetype quizzes this weekend… 🙂

    1. You Are a Pioneer

You fall under the wood element. Like wood, you need your freedom and room to grow.
You have your sights set high, and you feel like you will achieve all of your goals.

You don’t mind leading the way or blazing the trail. You are very ambitious and even competitive.
You succeed by being optimistic and flexible. If something doesn’t work out one way, you try another way.

You have a strong sense of purpose in your life. You are confident about how you are living.
You excel at planning and strategy. You’re the type of person who always has a contingency plan.

Comment: Very accurate. Not being a pioneer, nor very optimistic, but I’m determined and solution-oriented, always being prepared for a plan B.

    2. Am attracted to earth and metal. Bit afraid of fire, however it’s less worse since I worked with firemen 10 years ago and learned more about fire, for instance that a fire alarm can also mean an electrical error or similar.

    3. Interesting question, I have several. However, to put it briefly, I took an MBTI quiz and got ISTJ. Sounds about right. On enneagrams, I usually get 4, 5 or 8 depending on the questions.

    4. I got Earth as Power Element, mostly true. The most accurate result would’ve been Metal though.
