New Quiz: The Funky Wall Test

four different bold interior walls

What wall are you?

This is an odd question, but do you have a wall of your house or office that you really like? As much as I try to be an outdoors person, I find so much coziness inside. In particular, I like my modern little writing nook with a little day bed, laptop, and piles of books. And one of the things I like best about it is the blue wall in front of me with a huge black and white poster of Central Park in the winter.

Walls comfort me (and even inspire me) if they are interesting enough. I love a colorful mural, collage, or industrial backdrop. While big windows are nice (and I kind of want those too!), a wall can be more practical – and adaptable. Plus, walls don’t expose you to the elements and the whole world. They build up boundaries and defenses, which can be quite calming.

Do you think a lot about the walls around you, or are they simply just shelter? I used to not pay so much attention to the walls around me, but I’m getting more into decorating and personalizing them. It’s fun to be surrounded by colors and art that I love. I may not have the cool brick walls of an urban loft space, but I’m still kind of amazed by what a coat of paint can do.

My latest quiz,Β The Funky Wall Test, was inspired by some very cool wall pictures I found. See what the one you pick says about you, and feel free to discuss my result (and all things wall) with me below.

Discussion topics (Comment below and let me know any or all of these):

  1. What do you get on The Funky Wall Test?Β Is it true for you?
  2. What do the walls in your home look like? Painted? With pictures or posters? Something else?
  3. What sort of exterior or interior walls do you like best on buildings? Red brick? Stone? Marble? Metal?
  4. Do you have a favorite poster or picture in your home?

What do you think?

Vibrant. My walls are actually neutral because the people we bought the house from we’re flipping it and knew how to decorate to sell and then I just didn’t change it the 2 years we’ve been here and that’s good because now we’re selling it. Brick, stone, marble- all good. I do have a few pictures up but not a favorite piece of art. Yet.

Oooh, yes, perfect to live in a perfectly “staged” house you’re going to sell anyway. Good luck with the process – and I hope you find your dream home / art at the end of it all πŸ™‚

but but but….I don’t like my choices.
I wonder what that says about me.

    To answer theother questions:
My walls are painted – There’s prints of paintings and some Decorative pieces on the wall. The house is too small for a lot.

What I like best for an outside wall? It depends on the house, tbh. We’ve been house hunting and I’ve liked brick and stone and wood. The more unique the face of the house, tho, the happier I am.

Favorite poster? No – but I have this ornate metal thing that makes me happy.
Oh, and I have a tulip a fried painted.

I think you not liking any is typical of someone house hunting! You’re more attuned to what your preferences are. It’s definitely the time to be picky πŸ™‚

I’m also a fan of unique houses. Good luck with your search!

I’m glad your result fit you! I also got that one, and yes, flexibility is a challenge for me too πŸ˜‰

That glacier photo sounds really nice. I love to have a little taste of nature indoors! πŸ™‚

    You Are Vibrant

You live a shining life of possibilities and variety. You are usually in high spirits.
Your optimism and creativity reverberates and infects those around you. You are a positive force.

You hit a wall when you aren’t able to be around similarly positive and innovative people. Negativity brings you down.
You avoid darkness as much as you can with your own splashes of color. It’s still hard to deal with committed pessimists though.

You break through walls with your bright ideas and … yes … organization. You aren’t just a visionary.
When the moment calls for it, you are able to buckle down and make things happen. You know what steps to take.

The walls in my home are plain white with a lot of urban styled posters. I like red brick or a darker sienna. And no, I love all my posters, but one pic is of me, my family, and my friends in Brielle’s wedding. (“What is Your Love Type?”)

I got Resolute. Feels true for today!

    2) What do the walls in your home look like? Painted? With pictures or posters? Something else?

Painted with colors the previous owners chose. They had good taste. We have some artwork – framed and unframed.

    3) What sort of exterior or interior walls do you like best on buildings? Red brick? Stone? Marble? Metal?

I like unfinished wood inside homes and also brick.

    4) Do you have a favorite poster or picture in your home?

My favorite thing on the wall is a huge map of the United States with amazing detail.
