Comment about your school days for the chance to win a $10 Amazon gift code

Happy Friday, y’all. I thought it would be fun to make a Friday Five based on education. You all seem like an educated bunch, and I think it would be fun to learn about your backgrounds. As usual, I have a Friday Five giveaway. This week I’m giving away a free $10 gift code to Amazon to a lucky random winner.

The Amazon gift code is courtesy of Swagbucks.  If you want more free git cards, consider joining SwagbucksSwagbucks is an entertaining and easy place to earn free gift cards that I am obsessed with. If you love free gift cards, I highly recommend checking them out if you live in Australia, Canada, Ireland, UK, or the US. I earn gift cards to give away by watching music videos while I write quizzes :-)

All you have to do to enter is comment below and answer the Friday Five. I will run a random number generator on Monday morning and pick the winners that way. I will comment on the thread to the people who won, so you can check back to see who won that way. If you miss it, I will announce the winner on Facebook and also next week in the P.S.

So, here are the Friday Five questions for this week. Simply answer below in a comment to enter :-)

Oh. I don’t know about that. I suppose statistics is the closest thing to my major, but I don’t particularly enjoy it. XD

    1) I’m currently transferring to Cal State Long Beach after 2 years at Long Beach City College 😀
    2) Yes, I want to earn my bachelor’s in either illustration or animation (or a combo of the two), and possibly my master’s soon after.
    3) I love art! But science is also awesome :3
    4) Definitely math. Ugh.
    5) Your scholastic strength is evaluating!
You are great at looking at many details and putting them all together.
You are talented at detecting subtle trends, accuracy, and managing change.

    Conflict studies

    Finance
    Medicine

It’s actually somewhat accurate. I love medical science and statistics, I just didn’t want to do them for the rest of my life. xD

    1. B.A. (in English/Literature)
    2. Yes! I love to learn, and enjoy the stimulation provided by excellent teachers and thoughtful classmates. If I had the resources and opportunities, I’d get numerous degrees. As it is, I hope to become a professor.
    3. English/Comparative Literature
    4. I suppose P.E., which I hated in gradeschool. I did enjoy more PE in highschool, when there aren’t boys getting all competitive and mean, or if it was something like soccer. Aside from that, I wasn’t a big fan of any class that got too repetitive or tedious (which often was the case for me in math or science labs). I loathe busy work.

    1. What’s the highest level of education you’ve attained?

I have my high school diploma and I’m working on a college degree now. (: I’m just still undecided on a major. It’s only my first year, but it’s kind of been an anxiety point in my mind lately.

    2. Would you like to get more education? Why or why not?

I’m always wanting to learn about more things and expand my mind. So, definitely.

    3. What was your favorite subject in school?

English or Art. I’ve always been good at English and, as of the last four years or so, I’ve found a deep love for writing. Art was always just my place to relax and let go after a rough or especially hard day.

    4. What was your least favorite subject?

Math. We have a mutual dislike for each other.

    5. Take What Should You Major In?- – What do you get? Is it accurate?

The only one I agree with really is Communications because I had a really great experience in the Intro class I was required to take last semester. But the top description is pretty accurate. (:

I think being undecided on one’s college major is definitely a common anxiety point. I was undecided for a long time, and I switched quite often too 🙂

    1. Some college. Left my sophomore year because I didn’t know what I wanted to “be.”

    2. I’d like to finish and get a degree in my original major, but if I don’t I’m satisfied with the way things turned out. And besides, a college degree doesn’t guarantee a J-O-B.

    3. English.

    4. Math. Once I got in high school and the numbers and letters were together. No, no, no.

    1. What’s the highest level of education you’ve attained? After this semester, I will (hopefully) have one more year before I earn my Associate in Fine Arts, during which I will apply to the schools of my choice and major in music. I plan on becoming a vocal coach.
    2. Would you like to get more education? Why or why not? Of course, the more education I acquire, the more qualified I become.
    3. What was your favorite subject in school? I liked music and reading.
    4. What was your least favorite subject? Lord, I was not a fan of social studies at all. I especially hated history and geography. Learning about customs and languages is pretty cool; I just didn’t care about the boring stuff, like land forms and government laws. (However, I did get an A in my American government class during my senior year of high school, which I find rather ironic.)

I’m honestly not sure how accurate this is… but some of these majors sound pretty cool to me, particularly statistics and speech.

I got my GED. Public school and I didn’t get along.

Would you like to get more education? Why or why not?
No, but I may change my mind some day. I really see no point to it, sure it might make my life easier.. but I don’t want an easier life. I want to rely on God as much as possible, and I want to see Him work miracles in my life. I think I could see more of that without more of an education.

What was your favorite subject in school?
    Art or English

What was your least favorite subject?
    Probably Math.

    2. Would you like to get more education? Why or why not? I would, yeah. For one thing, there’s nothing more fun than learning things! (When I have the funds, I buy audio courses; when I don’t I find free courses in iTunes U, YouTube, or generous prof’s podcasts.) For another, I’m thinking I might want to get a design or art degree, since I ended up in that field, and self-education always has gaps.

    3. What was your favorite subject in school? English. (But I majored in Poli Sci!)

    4. What was your least favorite subject? Foreign languages. I have NO gift for learning languages!
