How Would You Grade Your Year?

Well, it’s almost time to ring in 2012! How did your year go? I had an awesome year! I had so much fun working on Blogthings, and I even got a little time to learn about psychology and programming. Maybe the only thing missing was a vacation or two… ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s so hard to fit everything into a year, that’s for sure. I hope that you had a great 2012 and will have an even better 2013.

If you were going to give your year a grade, what grade would it be? Take my latest quiz to find out: How Would You Grade Your Year?ย Comment below and let me know what you got. Also, let me know what you would grade your year. What made your year good, and what do you think could be improved upon next year?

I suppose if I had to think about it, I would rank my year a “B” – I think there is always room for improvement, especially self-improvement. If early results for How Would You Grade Your Year? are any indicator, it seems like many of you agree. I think a solid “B” or “C” is a good year. An “A” is a fantastic year – don’t get many of those. And if you get a “D” or “F”, well, let’s just say I bet you’re looking forward to a fresh start next year.

If you’ve been a longtime Blogthings fan, you may remember a quiz similar to this one: How Did Your Year Rate? I think the new quiz is a big improvement, but you may disagree. If you have time, take both and tell me what you think ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m also curious to know if you got a similar score on both or very different scores. I like to double check myself. Oh, and early Happy New Year!!!

What do you think?

Your Year Was a “C” Year

When it comes right down to it, your year was pretty average. It was okay.
It wasn’t the best of years, but it wasn’t the worst of years either. You are sort of relieved it’s over though.

Here’s hoping that next year is significantly better, or at least better than ever.
Remember that the new year can be a fresh start. Try to embrace the idea of starting over a little.

    Maybe some D too

Your Year Was a “B” Year

Your Year Was a โ€œBโ€ Year

You had a pretty darn good year, thank you very much. Youโ€™re happy with how things went.

Was it perfect? No. But there was a lot more good than bad that happened. And thatโ€™s good enough for you!

While you may want to spend time thinking about how you can do better next year, make sure to pay tribute to the year you had.

Pretty good years donโ€™t come along often, and you should celebrate that you had one!

Comment: Very accurate, you’re doing an excellent psychology job Kari.
Wishing you and all quiz takers a Happy New 2012!

B is an awesome grade for a year. I hope 2012 was just as good (I’m going back in time to answer some old comments today – I don’t like to leave any comment hanging.)

Just re-took the quiz and got “B” this year too. Work has been more demanding, but my financial situation has improved – I’m always very conscientous about paying bills on time and all that, but have been rather bad at storing money for unexpected situations. However, my New Year Resolution from 2012 “Saving More Money” has worked quite well – so, it all weighs up to a “B” year again. 2012 resolution goes for 2013 as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think two “B” years is a good streak!

I feel you on the saving money thing – definitely a big goal of mine this year. Good for you for making it happen ๐Ÿ™‚

“You had a pretty darn good year, thank you very much. You’re happy with how things went.”

Change isn’t always easy to accept, but I think I’m moving in the right direction.

“Was it perfect? No. But there was a lot more good than bad that happened. And that’s good enough for you!”

My career prospects went up at the expense of my relationship. It’s hard to balance.

“While you may want to spend time thinking about how you can do better next year, make sure to pay tribute to the year you had.”

I’ll definitely use my past experience to make next year better.

“Pretty good years don’t come along often, and you should celebrate that you had one!”

Well, I consider every year a blessing. I’m becoming more grateful for what I have, and the people who stuck with me.

I hope everyone had a good year, and I hope you all have a happy 2012! Kari, you said you’re learning programming? That’s cool! We need more girl programmers!
