The Dance Test

Do you fancy yourself a good dancer? I’m an amazing dancer… in my mind! I am always inspired by dancers I see, but I’m definitely not coordinated enough to dance well. (My best dance is called “yoga”.) I wish I could have practiced ballet more as a young girl, but I was always at the bottom of my class. It didn’t help that I was one of the tallest girls in the class as well (even though I’m average height now). Sometimes I try to tap into my love of dance with ballet workout videos, and who knows? Maybe I’ll take a ballet class for adults one day.

Even if I can’t be a ballerina, I would like to be better at dancing in public. I really freeze up at weddings and clubs, and it bugs me! I really wish I could bust a move or too, but I just end up feeling silly. I really envy all the people who just put it all out there on the dance floor, regardless of whether they’re good dancers or not. It almost doesn’t matter whether you’re a good dancer, as long as you have the confidence to back it up.

So, anyway, I decided to dedicate my latest quiz to my love of dance: The Dance Test – give it a whirl and let me know what you get. Does it fit your personality? I hope it inspires you to dance a little, even if just in private.

I had a lot of fun writing this quiz, and I hope you enjoy your result. The images just totally spoke to me for some reason 🙂 Sometimes that happens – I get the ideas from the images rather than finding images for my idea. Some of my favorite quizzes are born that way.

What about you? Do you love to dance? I’m curious to know how many of you took dance classes when you were younger and if you’ve held on to that talent over the years.

What do you think?

Well I like doing basic jazz dance moves at home sometimes, but that’s about it mostly… (No, not the TV series FAME dance moves, but those kinds of basic jazz moves where at least one feet is always on the ground… 🙂

    You Are Independent

You maintain an intriguing vibe. People are fascinated by your uniqueness.
You are a very private person. You don’t like for your life to be an open book.

You are big on doing things yourself. You like being self-sufficient and having lots of skills.
You are eternally wise. You guide people from the darkness to the light.

Awww, that’s a shame. There are plenty of places near me to dance, but I’m a hopeless dancer. Maybe we could strike up a trade of some sort? 😉

    You Are Subtle

I still like slow dancing. Does that make me subtle?

“In love, you are quiet and sweet yet very passionate. You love easily.”

The first part is true, but I’d say I love ‘selectively.’

“You notice the little things that others just pass by. You know how to make the mundane interesting.”

I’m definitely detail oriented. People are often surprised by the things I notice.

“Your personality is anything but “vanilla.” You’re a risk taker, who’s up for anything new.”

Haha, all I’ve done new recently is beginning to pick up Python as a programming language. It’s a nice change of pace from mostly working with assembly, and the occasional C.

“You tend to be more doubting than certain. You can be swayed with the right arguments.”

I can be swayed by arguments that are both valid and sound. 😛

Loved this quiz! I am actually a horrible dancer, it’s like my body doesn’t know how to move to a rhythm when I hear it. I do better when there are prescribed dance moves, rather than free form. I love to watch people dance though and fantasize about being able to dance, lol. I’m with you, my best dance is “yoga,” it truely does feel like a dance sometimes–which another reason I like it 😉

I’m actually surprised no one has thought up a more dance-y style of yoga. Actually, I bet someone has… I’m just unaware of it 🙂
