What Spice Is Your Soul?

What spice do you connect with?

Do you ever feel like the smell of a particular spice really speaks to you? There’s certain spices that draw us in, lift our spirits, and seem to drastically transform our surroundings. It almost doesn’t matter if you like the way that spice tastes or not… it’s all about the scent. For example, I absolutely love the smell of rosemary – but the taste is only okay, as far as I’m concerned. I love the taste of turmeric, but I am not so sure about the scent. In fact I am sure – it’s terrible.

I definitely have a set of spice scents I gravitate towards, and they tend to be very soft and sweet scents. I love vanilla bean and lavendar. I also like spicier scents for my home, especially in the fall and winter. When the weather gets cold, I love the soothing scents of cinnamon and cloves. For cleaning, I love fresh citrusy smells – especially orange rind .

I recently read a magazine article linking spices to personalities, and I think there’s something to that. After all, scent is a big part of our identities and who we’re attracted to. There’s a reason why companies offer a variety of scents to choose from. Thinking about scent and personality led me to write What Spice Is Your Soul? If you have strong opinions about scents, then you’ll want to take this quiz. You may find out that your favorite spice fits you to a ‘T’ … or discover a new scent that you should get into.

Your Soul’s Spice is Cinnamon (my fave spice! :-))

You think life is pretty great. You do your best to ignore or deal with the small stuff.
You love so many things in this world, and you embrace your passions. You are a warm and happy person.

You act on your instincts and do what feels right. At the end of the day, it’s important that you’re satisfied.
You are easy going and humorous. You especially have a sense of humor about yourself.

I do think life is great, but I’m very detail oriented. So I wouldn’t say I ignore the small stuff.

Haha, this makes me seem a bit selfish.

Absolutely. I wish there were more people who could laugh at themselves. We’re a rare breed. :\

Interesting, Anna! I’m not sure I agree about making sure you’re satisfied being a selfish thing, but then again, I do tend to put my own needs first… a bit of an evolution for me from my younger days. 😉

    I got sage…. 🙂
I’ve never tasted it before, but I know that aside from spices, it can also be used as a medicinal plant. It’s a really useful plant.
But when it comes to spice though, I guess cinnamon’s my favourite.

After reading every other possible result, I think the first paragraph of Lavender and second paragraph of Marjoram matched my personality too…
So, I think I’m a mix of Sage, Lavender, and Marjoram. 🙂
It’s really fascinating, how human personality is a perfect mixture of wonderful things….

    “Your soul’s spice is peppermint–

You are outgoing, talkative, and incredibly social. You love swapping stories and jokes. You say whatever is on your mind, and you always speak freely. You definitely have the gift of gab.

You have a super optimistic attitude, and you have figured out how to be happy.
You are lighthearted and carefree. People can count on you to always make the best of things.”

I do love striking up conversations with people–anyone really, lol. I definitely do have this side of me that is very talkative and social (my mom’s nickname for me as a kid was “social butterfly,” lol) and I do my best to be optimistic around people. But I feel like that’s only how I am when I’m around people. I feel like when I’m by myself there’s a much more serious side that’s a bit less “carefree and light-hearted.” Just an observation.

That’s really interesting. I should think about this a bit more for future quiz profiles, because I think that this is fairly common. I think I’m the same way myself… sort of “on” around other people but prone to lots of downtime and reflection as well.

I got Cinnamon which is awesome because it’s my favorite spice. In fact, I have a pot of water with cinnamon boiling in it right now to add some humidity and warmth to my cold, dry house.

This is probably the sentence that spoke to me the most:

“You act on your instincts and do what feels right. At the end of the day, it’s important that you’re satisfied.”

I believe this is a good way to live my life. I tend not to like too many rules or structure. I find that relying on my intuition is the way to go!
